Default memory question

could anyone please advise me on which memory i could buy.?
i have about 70-80 to spend. i am looking for 1gb.
i have been contemplaiting buying corsair from micro direct.
i use my p.c for work purposes and also gaming (cod).

go to crucial.com and run their check program. It will tell you what you can use.

i think i will go with this.
i think my mobo does support 1gb sticks, as they recomend it in their qvl (qualified vendor list)
but does having a 1gb instead of 2x512mb make any dif?

yes, if you have 2 sticks you can dual channel them. BTW how much is that in USD?
