Default media center computers

i want to turn my computer into a media center, but i dont know what to buy.
i want to buy what the stock gateway media center compter comes with but the thing is i dont know what it does. i know i have to buy the tv tuner but i want the one that gateway sell on there computer, and the remote and the windows media program. so does anyone know these things i need?

oh and just if you wanted to know i have 1gb of memory a 205gb hdd and dual core intel 2.8 processor.

you need to make sense .... all i made out from that is you need a whole new Os (XP media centre editon) ... please re-write it in a way is easier to understand

I know Hewlett-Packard (HP) makes a really good media center and it has a amd 64 in it and pci express slots..

ok sorry, i want to convert my computer to a media center but i want to use the parts that came with a gateway media center. so i want to know tv tuner card name. make sense?

i think he made sence, go with hp. my aunt has one and it's pretty awesome. make sure you get the TV tuner and remote or you won't get the best out of MCE
