The MBR?

As some of you know, I bought one of the new OCZ Vertex Turbo's recently. I still have yet to set it up because of how busy I've been.

But I put an OS on it, and when I try to boot to the drive, it gives me the infamous "A disk rear error occurred; press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to restart."

I've scanned the drive for bad sectors, this is not the case. I have a feeling it's the MBR. I absolutely refuse to go with the standard "Fdisk /MBR" method because I'm pretty sure this drive doesn't feature a default MBR with location 0,0,1 in the first 512 bytes.

My question is this:

What does everyone here use that I can use under a boot disk or in windows to clear the MBR properly on a non-standard drive?

Or does anyone have any guesses about what it could be.
