Default making game backups

ok so i have a few pc games that i would like to make personal back ups of so if i scratch them i still have a back up...now i have tried just burning them before but they have protection. is there anyprograms that will by-pass the protection?

even if you were to get pass the protection on the game disk, there are hidden files that only the designers can see. so you would really only be copying some of the disk.
