Necro, I know you like ATi, but do not compare the x600XT to the 6600GT..... Don't even compare the x700Pro to it.... The x800 is comparable for the most part though. Big price difference. I still like nVidia, and their cards are very good, especially their MIDRANGE cards, ATi MIDRANGE cards SUCK!!

Get a 6600 non GT. It still beats a 9800Pro card hands down, and with some clever overclocking, it will beat the 9800XT with ease. 6600 (non GT) 256MB card for you.

Here is a link to one:

This is a standard 5700 card. ALready puts the 9600XT to shame, but if you flash over the 5700Ultra BIOS to it, he he he, it will keep pace with the 9800Pro NP. I recommend you get it and flash the BIOS. Then, enjoy. Also, it is AOpen (a very decent company). Good Cooling as well. And only 79.58 quid. Enjoy.

I couldnt find that 6600 non gt any where can you repost the link? I havent a clue about overclocking a card either so you would have to help me on that issue as well. Im still interested in the 9600 XT so if you dont convince me otherwise soon I might have to buy it....
