Default Make a Hard Drive bootable-Help Please!

I posted another thread sort of about this, but never got an awnser i was looking for.

How would I make a hard drive able to boot off of by cloning another (ex. make a clone of C: put it on D: and boot off of it.)
Two things:
-my bios is dell a08 and it doesnt have an option to change the primary boot device. (i dont think so anyway)
-I have Windows XP so I dont have FDISK

ANY help is appreciated

thanks in advance

use a program like norton ghost to image the c drive. then copy it to the d drive from windows. then edit the boot.ini file so you have the option to choose the os on the d drive aswell as the one on the c drive. thats what id try.
Laptop spec: ASUS X53E, i5 2430m 2.4ghz, 3gb ram, 320gb hdd, intel hd graphics, usb 3.0
