Default Make backup DVDs?

Hello! I have a quick question,

I was wondering how to make backup DVDs of a DVD. I have a load of DVDs but the condition leaves a lot to be desired. How would I go about making a backup copy (with the chpaters in place)?

I have a 1x DWD+-RW and a CDRW. I think I would have to rip the DVD to the computer, convert it to something like AVI and then use a video editing program to produce the DVD. This is quite intensive, I'm sure it will lose quality.

Is there a simpler way to get whats on the DVD to a blank disc? Thanks!
