Default M$ Firewall Issues

basically i went away for one night to a party. come back next morning and my sister says that shes had a virus but she got rid of it.

so im left with the mess. no idea what the virus did, no idea what it was.

the only thing that i can see that is wrong is that the standard M$ Firewall is down. thats no biggie u say, just put it back up.... heres the problem... i cant!

the issue comes up in the little bubbles in the corner like the updates. it opens up the security center. Firewall is OFF so the recommendation gives u the option to turn it on. it cant but says try it manually.

manual attempt gives the message that it cant put the fre wall up either.

imnot sure what has been done, or even what can BE done to fix this problem, so im asking you guys for some help.

cheers in advance,

Personally I would install the free version of zonealarm and forget about msfirewall. It's not very good anyway.
