now, ive heard different things for applying the thermal grease, do i put only a little tiny drop, or enough to spread it all around?

Dust out your case and power supply fan. Problem solved.

If that doesn't work, make sure your case isn't rattling.

My whole comp is new, my case is a little less than a month old, and i have an awesome case that i know is not rattling.

Firstly, heatsinks dont make any noise, at all, it's the fan's that make the noise, and secondly, what a stupid thing to say..you proberly have a different HSF, a quieter one..think next time

Yeah, just re-sit your HSF, and clean it while your at it..how big is the fan? 80mm? smaller?

it is my HSF that is making all the noise, its 92mm

Yeah - stock heatsinks are always loud.

I would definitely suggest the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro - cheap but effective.
