Default Lost hotkey functions on a VAIO VGN-FS195VP help!?

Hello. I uninstalled some programs in 'Add/Remove Programs' on a Vaio VGN-FS195VP notebook in an attempt to free up the CPU a bit as it was severely overworked.

For some reason, despite being very careful with what i uninstalled, i seem to have lost the hotkey functions (for example Fn + F4 should increase the volume). I need to get these functions back.

I assume this is controlled by drivers and i've accidently uninstalled them? First port of call was for me to download all the pre-installed drivers from Sony but i can't install a lot of them as there's no executable setup files so i'm quite stumped.

Any help appreciated!
