Default Looking for a video card.

I'm just startin my first build so far got the case, motherboard, and im ordering the cpu this weekend. Now i'm lookin for a video card. I was wondering is it really worth it to put out like $200 for one, or would one of these be ok. Im into a little bit of gaming, but not to much. I just want to get the best, but not spend an arm and leg. Here is a list of what I have so far....
case...

definately go for nvidia, the 8600GT beats all the other cards

i would get that, its the same price, cheaper after rebates, and it is better performance wise. the amount of ram isnt the main factor for determining performance, clocks, core, bandwidth all mean much more performance wise.

also since its a dual slot cooler it wont just blow hot air into your case, it will blow it straight out reducing overall temps in your computer

Hmm... the 8600 is very underpowered as I've said before. The fact it performs less adequatly than a X1950 (A Direct X 9 card) is saying something bad about it.
Still, its an upgrade, I guess
