I recently bought and then sold the following computer:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883147066

I made around $100 on the sale. Honestly, I don't need the computer to be that good, but I want to get a good deal for around $500 dollars. I have a couple questions.

1. What kind of performance increase would I notice if I spend $600 instead of $500? I multitask on the computer. Photoshop, Chrome open with 5 tabs, AOL Instant Messenger, 3 Word Docs open at once, on an intense day, maybe 2 extra programs running as well. I don't play any games though.

2. Would you guys recommend building my own rig? I can do it; I just don't know if it's worth the time, because I'm not buying a $3000 computer and saving $1000. It seems like I'd be getting a $600 dollar computer for $450.

3. Where is the best place to look for a) parts if I build my own or b) pre-built systems if I don't.

4. I'm going for value here, but I love things to be snappy on the computer, and run fluidly, if you know what I mean :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Take care.
