Delta 120mmx38mm Tri-Blade Fans own all. Hands down. If you're willing to pay $16 of course...

Panaflos are good for silence when CFM isn't a priority, but if you want the best of both worlds, go with the Deltas.

keep in mind that if u want quiet fans your're going to be giving up airflow but as long as your comp doesnt overheat then theres no problem

If DBAs are how sound is measured (lower DBA, less sound), then arent the ones that ACDC ROX posted really quiet? I would get a couple though, so no overheating (I dont use my PC for anything big anyways). And will basically any heatsink/fan work on my mobo/processor, because mine is kinda odd in that it basically uses a clip or something to remove and put back on the heatsink..

is this a pretty quiet heatsink? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186103

PS: Is it the heatsink or the FAN on the heatsink that makes the noise?

its the fan that makes noise. With noise comes more CFM, so you are trying to find the best Noise to CFM Ratio. ATM Delta's have the best Noise to CFM ratio. They push quite a bit of air for minimal noise.

Not really. Delta Tri-Blade Low Speed fans give off 75.93 CFM at 34.0 dBA. You get silence and performance all in one.

Panasonic Panalflo Ultra Quiet fans are good too. 68.9 CFM at 30 dBA. It's a dollar cheaper on SidewinderComputers.com

oh, and and what about video card coolers... the fan on my vid card seems to be the source of some noise....

do these fanless coolers these do a sufficient job?

http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/zalman-cool.html#vid

if you scroll down at the botton, they even have chipset heatsinks without fans and claim that its just as good....any validity to this?
