I have about $2200 to $2500 to spend on a gaming PC. I fell that I know quite a bit about computers, but not a geek :p . I was looking at the Alienware: Area-51 7500 system w/ a Core 2 Duo E6400 processor and 2 gigs of ram.

Ok, now for the advice part. I have a 17" Dell LCD monitor and I dont plan on spending alot of money any time soon to get a bigger monitor. With this PC I can get a

* 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7900 GTX
* 1024MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7950 GX2L

for the same price. Is it a no brainer to get the latter?

P.S. I hope this was in the right forum.

Another opinion question. Should I...

Keep the Duo 2 E6300 processor and 2 GB ram or replace it with the Duo 2 E6700 Processor and 1 GB of RAM(and cut a few accessories)?

Keep the E6300 and 2GB RAM. You'll need the extra memory for games such as BF2 that really need the added memory to make it playable at high resolutions with all the eye candy. :D

E6700 is kind of expensive, I would recommend going for the E6600 and having 1GB of Ram, you can always add more Ram but you can't upgrade your processor.
