Default looking for a quick answer

What is the best graphics card I can get for about 200-250 a little more or less wont hurt but try to stay within that price range.

Right now I have

Asus M2N-E mobo
AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.6 Ghz
2G of DDR2 - 800
320 GB HDD
I have a 500W Power supply (but i can upgrade if need be * preferably not *) *its a corsair so it should be dependable, there is very little strain on it right now
Last the problem area - Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT (256)

Im looking for somthing in the 8800 or 9600 range I doubt I can pull off a 9800 with that price range

*running Black XP lite(modded XP)
*will be spending Canadian dollars (but feel free to list from american sites and what not I will do what ever conversions necessary)

thx in advance

The best card you can get for that price range is the HD 4850. It will be out in around 10 days, I'm sure a 7600GT will do you fine for that long?

You won't need to upgrade your PSU for it and it will be available in quantity at launch.
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE @ 4.0GHz + TU120E lapped - MSI 770-CD45 AM3 - 2x2GB OCZ DDR3 1333MHz - Sapphire HD 4870 - Samsung Spinpoint 500GB 7200RPM 16MB cache HDD - Tagan TG600-BZ Piperock - (Currently open test bed) - Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit.
