Default Looking for good gaming laptop from 700 to 1000 dollars

Im looking to buy a nice looking gaming laptop from 700 to 1000 dollars. I'd prefer to have the screen 17 and up but something lower works too. I dont care about battery time im just looking for a laptop that runs games good. Right now Im thinking to buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+L...&skuId=9556072

If anyone knows of any other better laptops out there for my price range then plz leave a link, thanks.

When I get off the couch and CSI is over, I'll try to have a look for you later. The one you listed isn't horrible, but from first look the graphics card isn't bad, but I would say that the CPU and memory standard (ddr2) are a little sub-par for a gaming laptop and for future-proofing, especially if you plan to keep this laptop for more than a few years. I can tell you that you'll be toward the top end of your price range.

Keep in mind, if you post a budget on a computer forum, we're probably going to run close to the top of it. Are you really ok with $1000? If so:

Lenovo IdeaPad Y550P(324156U):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834146613

Should play any modern game. Best overall system I've found so far. Specs:
-CPU- Core i7 720QM (Passmark score: 3357) (1.6 GHz Hyper-Threaded quad core)
-GPU- Geforce GT240M (Passmark score: 448)
-15.6" screen @ 1366x768.
-3.5 hours battery life
-6.06 pounds
-HDMI out
-Bluetooth

Gateway P-7908u FX Edition:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E168341****3 (the censored part is "0 1 2 0" no spaces)

This is the next-best one. It has a much better GPU, but the CPU will bottleneck it, I think.
It's very similar to the Asus you posted, but with a better cpu, screen, RAM, and battery life. Specs:
-CPU- Core 2 duo P8700 (passmark score: 1778) (2.53 GHz dual core) (the asus scored 1535)
-GPU- Geforce GTX 260M (passmark score: 737)
-17" screen @ 1440x900 (the asus has 16" @ 1366x768)
-3 hours battery life (the asus has 1.5 hours)
-9.05 pounds
-Firewire port
-Dedicated number pad
-2nd hard drive slot (empty)

Shared specs:
-500GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive (The Asus has 320GB, 7200RPM)
-1 year warranty
-4GB DDR3 1066 RAM (The asus has 4BG DDR2)
-Windows 7 Home Premium
-Super Multi optical drive (CD/DVD burner)
-1.3MP webcam
-Wireless A/B/G/N

It's censored out for some reason.

I posted the part that's censored.
