looking for answer

hi need a bit of help, will explain,
my boss had me do a system restore on his Hd in his tower that he brought from home, he is using it as a workstation, anyway after doing a system restore it keeps putting up this message about not having service pack 1, have downloaded all updates from MS and still keep getting this message, any ideas as to what I should try to do to resolve the problem?,
BTW: the system is a Hp Pavilion a1110n running windows home if that helps

Ok so I cheated, I brought the system home and got hold of original manufactorer ( HP) through many phone calls and much back and forth finaly said the Heck with it ( being as the system is no longer under warrenty) I formated the HD after having pulled of all pertainate information the reinstalled windows.
no problems with service pack from this install
