Linksys WMP11 Not Working

Right now, my friend is over and he doesn't have a wireless card, so I let him have one of mine. (I had a couple left over) Its a fairly old one (like 3+ years), and his computer cant find it. We have installed the newest drivers and the connection utility. The connection utility doesnt pop up, but it says its open. Please help!

Have you got security setup on ya wireless connection? Your card might not support it, so try disabling it. Could possibly be ya friends firewall, so try disabling that to see if it connects

it doesnt even recognize the fact that the device is connected to the computer

Can you test the device in another computer to make sure its working properly?

i tested it on mine and the same thing happened...

Try a differnt card, it could be bad if neither of the systems are picking it up.

is this a USB, PCMCIA, PCI what type of wireless device is it?

if its PCI try a differnt slot
