Default Lines going across the screen

I have a Dell Dimension XPS D333 processor and an ICL 14C monitor.The processor starts up okay and then i get lines going across the screen.What does this mean?

or your graphics card may be going bad, can you take a picture?

Can you post some more info, your a bit vauge here. Heres a few questions.
1)When exactly during boot up do you get the lines
2)Have you altered anything with your system lately, like new parts, updates, drivers etc etc.
3)What were you doing before this started happening

1.i get the lines after the processor has booted up.
2.i just bought the processor secondhand.

What do you mean after the processor boots up??!

That makes no sense at all.

(very rare chance that if you have a cell phone near by may distort screen), bad grafs car, have you been messing around with any parts on the inside of the comp?

I guessing here..
But I think by "processor" he means computer.

I get the lines after the processor, ( computer ) has installed linux.
i dont have a cell phone and i havent been tampering with the computer.
