Line through Xp Login screen

Ok i just bought my Laptop two weeks ago and just 4 days ago a single vertical line of off colour pixels appeared through my user login page. It only appears in the login page and nowhere else. What would be causing this?

something is up with the color pixels.
what if you try putting the same color background on your desktop that u have as the login?
Do you still see the line?? if so, then you've got dead pixels or something screwed up with the monitor.

I put the same color background but no line. Its really weird the line changes color too as it goes through the different shades of blue in the login screen

I guess if it really bothers you...see if you try and re-install xp??

otherwise, if it doesn't show up on your desktop...then i wouldn't be too worried about it.

Yeah i might try to reinstall xp when i get back to Canada cause the copy's over here are really expensive. i guess i could always go back to where i got it

no....i don't think a virus could do something like that
