LG DVD Burner is SLOW

Hey fellas I got this LG burner and it is suppose to burn DVDs at 18X but I only get 4X max in nero. What the heck is going on????Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Look here:

It might be your blank DVDs.

Try buying 18x DVDs.

I don't know. They are no-name brands. There is nothing on them

They're probably only 4X DVDs.
I doubt it's the firmware..

Get some new, faster DVDs. They'll probably be more expensive though.

Well theres your problem then, i used to be a team leader for a CD/DVD manufacturing plant and i can tell you for a fact that they are F grade discs. Basically you have A+, A, B, F gradings (my company did anyway) and we had people like TDK, verbatim buying the top stuff, then the other discs went to various companies on the cheap. Im pretty sure you have got some of the crap ones.
