laptop wireless

hello all, i got a acer aspire v5-571 and the wireless is not turning on.. it has windows 8 installed on it, when i try t turn on the wireless its grayed out.. it does not seem to have a physical switch to turn on and off the wireless.. when i use the fn+f3 keys it only turns of an on the airplane mode thing... i went to the site an installed the update of the bios,chipset and wireless with no joy.. what am i missing..

I even downgraded it to windows 7 an the windows 7 drivers on the site not working aswell
