Labtop vs. Desktop

I have a few questions. I am thinking about building a computer this winter. It will be the 1st computer I have ever built and am right now looking for what components I am going to get.

A question came up that has not been answered and I have not found much information on it on Google. Is building a desktop computer different then building a Labtop? I know it's different but is there anything so different I need to be aware of?

Re: Labtop vs. Desktop

You can't build a laptop. Some places might let you specify the parts you want installed on it, but they don't sell individual parts to build a laptop...

*edit*
I guess you wheren't refering to the lunchbox/luggable/portable computers? They use standard stuff like any other ATX, just might have some motherboard size limits, just as would any smaller case...

keeps saying labtop? Do you mean like..tower and desktop. towers are mainly better.

Looks like I will be getting a laptop soon. Looks like Nvidia 6800go's are almost ready.

This laptop says it has one it it and will ship in OCT.
