Laptop Soundcard

Hello,

I am wanting to get a reasonably good soundcard for my laptop, i am still not sure if it is possible to get a new one built in and that i may have to go for an outboard soundcard.

Does anybody know if i can get one put inside my laptop?
Also could anybody let me know what the best soundcard to buy would be. Im looking for something around middle range.
In or Outboard.

Well first off, if you've got a SC in the laptop, then it's probably going to be next to impossible to completely disable it. YOu can run 2 soundcards at once, but they usally confict at sometime.

If you don't have on, there are PCMCIA(PC-Cards) sound cards you can buy, problem is finding one. They are rather rare. Then there are USB sound cards or I've even seen USB speakers(Powered and sound card emulation all from the USB port). I think they would kill your performace, but they are an option if you have USB.

anyone else know what i can do, i need something small and cheap if its an outboard soundcard, and preferably not from usb
