Get a PCIMCIA(?0. It is the slot on the side of your lappy. Get a sound card and put it in there.

Get a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Notebook. It's a sound card that plugs right into the slot where you usually put the wireless ethernet card.

Well, you know why you lost sound, so why don't you bring it to a computer repairman. If it's broken.....fix it!

Have you used headphones on it? It could just be the speakers. What about errors; getting any? Does it show up fine in system proporties?

There are USB soundcards, PCMCIA sound cards, USB speakers that emulate soundcards as well... I'm sure there's somethign you could do if it is infact dead...
