Default Which Laptop Should I Get?

I am torn between a two laptops, both are almost identical except for the CPU.

One has an A8-4500M while the other has an A6-4400M.

Other than that, both laptops have a 500GB hard drive, 4GB of RAM and will cost about $400 all said and done.

Do I want a lower clock speed with more cores and L2 cache or more clock speed with less cores and cache?

There are a lot of other factors to consider. What chip set do they have?
Model and brand name, please.

Lot more bang for the buck for 499.00 > Newegg.com - Refurbished: HP Pavilion g7-1333ca Notebook Intel Core i3 2350M(2.30GHz) 17.3" 6GB Memory 640GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi Intel HD Graphics 3000
You can get them new in the box for that much if you shop around a bit.

Thanks, but $400 is about all I can spend and unfortunately I need one sooner than later.

If anyone has other suggestions for a laptop in the $400 neighborhood. I will be using it almost exclusively for work and coursework.

Additionally I will be viewing HD content and listening to music. I would like something with at least one USB 3.0 port.
