Hi guys. My mate stood on his laptop. It was open and he stood on the keyboard and now the screen won't work. It still has power when switched on and sounds like the hard drive is working. Any ideas or info? Thanks

He most likely did damage to the motherboard, as it's right under the keyboard. You could verify that the RAM is still seated correctly but chances are there is damage to the motherboard that will be beyond repair.

Why did he stand on a laptop?

Best case scenario: he snapped the lead running to the screen.
Worst (and most Probable) Scenario you damaged the Motherboard as previously Mentioned.

Try plugging in an external monitor, if you get image all is well, with the board, if not then its a sad face moment.

Open up the Laptop, remove everything and inspect for damage.
Good Luck.
