Default laptop not recognizing RAM

Sorry if this question was already asked but I recently bought an http://www.everex.com/products/xt5000t/xt5000t.htm and http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820144066, now the max ram the laptop can hold is 4 GBs which is what i bought.

But in system properties, it shows up as 3GBs of RAM. I running on Vista Home Premium. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Is this 32bit vista your running? If it is then it sounds like your hitting the 4GBRAM limit, this applies to all 32bit OSes. Take a look here http://www.vistaclues.com/reader-que...windows-vista/
