The problem is every time I turn it on (this problem decreases as computer is online longer) the monitor will turn off and I know to push the little button on it that resets the monitor when you open the cover and I was wondering what the problem could be.

This has been resolved. For some reason I traced the problem to an old anti-virus I was using.
