laptop memory

i have a hp pavillion ze 5345 laptop and i just got a MEMORY PRO 512MB DDR DDR266 PC2100 200 PIN SODIMM RAM and when i installed it my laptop wouldnt register it so i took both of my ram out and put just the 512 in and my laptop wont even turn on. can anyone tell me why it wont register or even let me turn on my laptop

are u sure its the right one? and also make sure the cover is on it is tight not too tight thought because the computer might think its open and not turn on.

are you sure its the right type of ram. does it fit in all the way. make sure the ram isnt faulty, if yuo can try it on a different laptop
