i don't think it would becuase integrated graphics cards aren't usually the greatest

Not at all. The 7150M is meant more for watching high definition movies. Doesn't really work too well for games.

From what I can gather, that lappy should be able to handle Spore on medium settings at the most. I've read where some are running it OK with Intel integrated graphics.

I would spring for a dedicated graphics card. Select the bare minimum for any parts that are upgradable such as the hard drive or RAM.
