Exclamation Laptop Hard Drive Problem....NEED HELP!

I have an Acer Aspire. My C: partition only has 16gb space left, but my D: partition is completely unused. The Hard drive is only 120 gb so that doesnt give me much room any way. the problem is, it is so slow in normal boot (although i reach the desktop) but it does fine in safe mode, what should i do? i thought about installing a new hard drive, but how can i clone when i cant do anything operational? i thought maybe a virus scan was in need, but how can I do that? do i need to get a bootable disc? any relevant comments will help. i just need some direction. thanks!

If you are running Windows, and your 'My Documents' folder is full of files, you could move it to your second partition.
