Default laptop fan not working

hello. i have a dell inspiron 1501 laptop. it has been running really hot recently. the fan will only go on when the cpu reaches like 135 F. does anyone know how to change the temp so it comes on before it reaches that hot? i tried speedfan but the fan wasn't detected. and i didn't see it anywhere in the bios.

any help is appreciated!!!
thanks!!!

135 degrees isn't very hot for a CPU.
It will be fine.

My netbook can burn me if i leave it on my bed.
There are lots of different pieces of software that can control fans.
Give me a sec and I will post a few.

Here ya go.

Naw
I cant find any more.
If its a problem to you, no matter what the laptop is going to be warm.
Buy a laptop cooler pad.

my friend just uses an antec laptop cooling pad, they range from $20-$100 if your just looking for one for normal use like surfing the web and movies and some gaming. Just run to best buy and grab a cheaper one and cool that down and save your lap haha =]
