I have an MSI cx600 with a dedicated ATI 4330HD. I also have a desktop with an Nvidia 8600GT. When I plug my 42" plasma in with a VGA to DVI converter it works just fine. Now, when I plug in the MSI it the image on the TV tears horribly no matter what resolution i set it to. It did the same thing with my old HP G60 as well and I could never figure it out. The desktop runs the TV at 60hz so does the laptop, but it just tears. I can set the resolution on the tv to 1280x1024 and it wont tear, but the ENTIRE screen vibrates back and forth.

wtf? haha

tested it on another laptop, does the same thing.

i cant find anything on the net about this...

I find it hard to believe all these laptops gfx cards are incompatible or something. I'm stumped and it sucks because I would like to stop using my desktop for the tv and be able to get my desk out of my living room!

Sounds like a communication issue between your laptop, the component, and your television. I've had this happen before, but my laptop manual instructed me how to fix this. Except, I was using a projector instead of a TV.

Made sure your display drives for your laptop are up to date?
