Default laptop endurance: DELL vs HP

I'm hesitating between these 2 laptops:

1/HP DV5-1017nr: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...roduct=3763423

2/Dell XPS M1530 (T8100, 4G, 320GB, Geforce 8600M GT)

Im not a gamer, but use multimedia more than average. The price dont make up my concern but what I really want is a good laptop to use for at least 2 years; ince I've been hearing stuffs like Dell has a worse hardware compared to HP.

Could anyone give me an advise, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, guy!

What are you exactly using this notebook for? Both are consumer notebooks, so expect consumer quality. I have a few business notebook recommendations if you're interested.

Thanks for the question, 01001010, I mostly use it for office work but I also play around with multimedia a lot.
Oh, sure, I'd like to have the business laptop recommendations.
Thanks

Heres some pros and cons that I have exprienced with Dell and Compaq laptops

Hp
Pros
Good performance for price
Good customer support
Duralible- Still have a Six year old one.

Cons
battery life
High temperature
System & hardware issues

Dell
Great specs
Customization
Relativly good batteries
Temp stays on the normal side
Durable for size

Cons
Stability
Customer Support

Out of the two buy: Dell

But I like Levono and Sony laptops better.

You know Compaq is HP's budget line? That's not really a fair comparison, is it?
