dude its cool your helping me out but, its like beating a dead horse. i've been stuck in ubuntu for 4 days.. my dvd drive wont boot any iso's. i've searched so much for what is wrong. i spent over $60 for this dvd drive and burned over 600 movies with it.

And now my WD passport is f'd up now. it just shows quotation marks " instead of 320GB MEDIA and i cant dismount or open it.

its so screwed. and i get a new video card tomorrow so i could play cs:s finally and im stuck with this.

I understand, your next course of action would be to get a laptop dvd drive converter, I had personally never seen one, so you will have to order it on the internet.

If you another iso of an OS you want to use, I found this guide online:
