Laptop display

Hi all,newbie here

I have just took delivery of my first ever laptop and have a question i hope someone can answer ?

Its regarding the display.I went for a widescreen laptop and am well impressed with it,however when viewing certain websites the webpage becomes compressed,in some cases only taking up half of my 15.4" screen.

My question is this....is this normal and would the display be like this if i went for a non widescreen laptop or would the dislpay on these websites fill the screen on a non widescreen laptop ?

I'm sure websites are made to view correctly on 4:3 screens over 16:9 scrrens, but if the resolution is high enough, it should work alright on either... Check your resolution...sounds like you just need to inscrease it...
