Default Laptop choice

My friend is looking for a new laptop for college and he's going into engineering so I think a decent videocard should be a high priority thing.

Anyway, does anyone have experience with any of the mobile GPUs? 7400/7600GO?

The only laptop I have right now uses integrated graphics so I haven't had much experience with mobile GPUs.

Default Re: Laptop choice

my friend can run some pretty intense engineer apps on his lappy- it is a few years old, has 512 ram, not that good of a video card, and it does that pretty well. I would get a lappy with a medium end graphics card (maybe more of a workstation card than a gaming card), and make sure it has at least 2 gigs of ram.
