Default Which laptop between those two?

I am hesitating between the Dell XPS 15 and the ASUS a52N XE1.

Détails du portable Dell XPS 15 | Dell Canada
A52N-XE1 | ASUS A52N-XE1 Notebook | Canada's best price

Which one is most sturdy and reliable?

I use it as an internet computer with a lot of movie watching, a little video editing and a little autocad from time to time (when I don't have my work laptop with me). I need a sturdy laptop as it is always in the living room, on the couch or coffee table, also frequently challenged by my 1 y/o son...

Which one would you pick?

Go with the Dell; it has way more punch for the money, especially since it's in liquidation.

A GT525 with 1GB RAM will kick the intergrated 4250 the ASUS has, and the i3 CPU offers better performance than Turion CPUs (Well, to what I've experienced so far).

Do you think that I will notice the cpu and gpu difference with the use I make?

The Asus has some nice details that I like. Also, my current inspiron did not last the run (hinges and keyboard are broken)... Is ASUS made tougher?
