Kernal32 fault

Hi My system is:-

Win 98 withamid 1.o cpu 256 memory motherboard PC266 SOCKET A
On board graphics and sound
I have a problem in that when i open a program it runs for a short while then I get := Module Kernal32.dll at0177:bff714AC
AND HAVE TO REBOOT to do anythig else.

well reinstalling windows would fix it.
I can't think of anything else.

exept maybe ask a friend with the same version of windows to copy their kernal32.dll and send it to u. Then just overwrite the old one with the one he send. But this is just something that I was wondering. Never heard of anyone trying and I have no idea if it will work. Might start to work fine, might make the computer even more screwed up than it is now.
