Default keeping hd from one computer

is it a good idea to take the harddrive from my current computer and use it in a new computer im building so i can keep my OS, all my programs, and all my settings?

Personelly I wouldnt advise it.

Changing your MOBO is a big deal as far as windows will be concerned and if your also adding loads of new components to boot, your asking for trouble with driver conflicts and who knows what else.
If I was you, I'd backup, Format, then bang it in the new system and start with a fresh install.
