Well i just put a new fan on my CPU with some OCZ thermal gel. It an AMD 64 3200+ SKT 754. The fan is... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1504105&CatId=1187

Anyways.. i checked speedfan and before i took it out i was idling at about 35-40C, however now i"m idling at like 45-50C!!! How can this be!! Will it eventually cool down once the thermal paste gets spread a little more on the processor?

Your meant to spread the paste on the processor when you install it. You use a tiny amount, about the size of a grain of rice.

that and speedfan isnt the best software to find out the tempuratures.

My BIOS Settings tell me that i am running at 49C when its been idling all day.
Also the OCZ website says you only put a drop in the middle and let it spread by itself.

PLEASE SOMONE WHO HAS USED THIS TELL ME THAT THE TEMP WILL GO BACK DOWN!!!

You need to spread it around with a credit card or something like that, although thats never worked for me I always use an inside out sandwich bag and use my finger.

I always spread mine out. Whenever I just put a small drop of paste, I always get lower temps when I spread it out.
