Just how protected am I?

Well in my past scans with Spybot and ad-aware they haven't quite shown me that they are very reliable and durable. I sick and tired of this Spysweeper BS. It's always showing the same spyware on my computer even when I manualy delete it. And Norton doesn't even delete some of the viruses. Will someone please tell me if Spybot and ad-aware will fully protect me and if there is a better solution to an anti-virus program.

Best anti-virus...well, it's impossible to say really. I'd say take your pick from F-Secure, Kaspersky, and Panda.


I recommend using Zone Alarm if you haven't already got it installed.

The SpySweeper problem may be a result of it not being able to get rid of the spyware. Try a different program, like Microsoft Anti-Spyware, HijackThis etc.

try deleting your restore points, and then running the scans with the computer in safe mode...see if that helps to get rid of the junk.....

Try some free anti-virus.
I like AntiVir alot. Also many ppl say that AVG is great, but I didn't like it that much.
I have both of those, AntiVir for main use and avg for backup.
