Default just got ubuntu

i just installed ubuntu, i tried installing the 64 bit edition but the installer crashed (yes i have a 64 processor) so i used the 32 disk instead, it works fine, but i was wondering if anybody had any cool programs for ubuntu and how to install them.....and i was wondering if there was a way to switch from os to os (windows and linux) without rebooting?

You can always use VMWare to have an instance of windows running through Linux (or vice versa)

or you could look into this:

Nope, parallels would be... but it costs $50, but is easier than VMware. Cool programs for ubuntu? Try setting up Xgl... there are lots of guides on the internet... google Xgl Ubuntu. Also, get Google Earth! Have fun with ubuntu!!!
