Default Just got a new motherboard

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130491

I got that board from a local shop for about the same price.

I'm thinking that I might get

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103572
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130283
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103464
CASE: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119068

I've already got the memory taken care of.

That setup seem alright to you guys?

This is going to be a very big step for me.. as I happen to be upgrading from a 300mhz computer. (system in my signature is my dads...)

Personally, i dont like MSI motherboards. Dont know why, but they dont attract me at all. Get an ASUS or a DFI motherboard. Those are ones that i will recommend. Even the Epox NF4 Ultra or SLI chipsets are good too.

Well I happen to love MSI motherboards, i've used three different boards from them... and all have performed beautifully. (not to mention most of those ASUS and DFI boards cost WAY too much. $150 for a motherboard is way over my budget.) So i'm not worried bout that. Besides, i've already bought the board.

I'm looking for an opinion more towards the other hardware.

The parts youve picked out are good. Obviously not the best, but who needs the best? Nice choice in parts, and the Enermax Whisper PSUs are decent. I would get a Fortron AX-500A instead.

That Fortron looks pretty good, but I don't think i'll have any need for 2 12v lines.

Regarding the video card (eVga GeForce 7600GT), How well would you say it would stack against 2 6600GTs in SLi?

Its not the 2 12V lines that i like about the Fortron. Fortron stats are very very underrated unlike Thermaltake. The Fortron is very stable and it wont die on you and take your brand new computer with it. The 7600GT is a decent GPU, not bad at all. It should beat two 6600GTs.

Yeah, I figured you were referring to the sheer quality of the fortron. Looks reliable, but I think i'll stick to enermax. I've been able to see that actual PSU in the works... and it worked beautifully. Thanks for the input though. Thermaltake is highly over rated.. i've seen a few of those fail.

As for those GPUs... I was in a computer store earlier today (pc club) and I was able to play a game on a system with dual 6600GTs... I had never seen a computer perform better than that in my entire life. Seeing halo run at 1024x768 with 200+ fps and all settings turned up was sadly able to blow me away.. I guess that is to be expected when the best video card I have around here is an aging Ti4200...
