I wouldn't bat an eyelid at the dynamic contrast, as long as its in the thousands. Why? Because, dynamic contrast sucks, thats why!
Who wants to be viewing something thats pretty bright, for something dark to come on screen, and for the screen to go "oh...its darker. Better dim that back light...*time passes*"
Same for when a scene goes from dark to light, which is even more annoying.
That is all the screen is doing in those situations. Dimming and brightening the back light... not all that clever.
I keep mine locked.
As for LCD's. They do reign supreme, IF you use the monitor at its default res.
Unlike a CRT, it can't physically switch resolutions, so has to stretch pixels to achieve lower amounts, which is a shame.
