Default java

So i just started learning java using one of my brothers old dummies books

This book is OLD.. Java is only at version 1.1 in it. Is java the same for programming or has it been completely revamped? Should i get a new book with version 6(?) in it, or use this one! Help!

Default Re: java

With the execption of some of the header files, I don't think it's changed much.
