I've lost my safe mode... What do I do?!

But see, linux is gone. Alotta good that does me huh. I dont think you understand, that this boot menu is just blocking my way into windows safe mode.

i DO realize that. I was just letting Kalthorn know. I dont know what to tell you. Windows xp right?

This is why i booted linux to a seperate hdd.

Lol, yeah I know nothing about Linux :D Hence the Avatar.

Could you not get into the Windows Boot Menu through the Windows Installer? You could boot it from that, blank the Linux Partition, shut down without telling it to install and then it should work? Perhaps...

Okay, something like this changes your MBR (Master Boot Record).
The MBR handles the selection table you get for dual boots and such..

Put in a Windows XP disk and let it boot up.
When it gets to the menu, press R for Recovery Console.
When it comes to the prompt, type fixmbr
When it asks for an administrator password, you can almost always just press Enter.

That fixed it for me.

Wow thanks dude. Well, will it work with a different Windows? Becuase I lost my home disk, and thats what is on my computer. But, I do have windows corperate laying aruond here somewhere.
