Default Issue with sound card...

Lately my sound card seems to have quit, nothing really is wrong with the computer, just got it in december. Yet the system clarifies that no sound card/drivers are detected, I searched around the net for some way of updating drivers, but I can't update drivers for something that "doesnt exist".

If anyone has any ideas on how I might go about activating my sound card, let me know, thanks.

Have you got an independant sound card or is it intergated into the motherboard?

Have you installed the drivers correctly (Either with the motherbaord CD or the sound card CD)

To the best of my knowledge, it is integrated.
It's merely a factor of the computer being incapable of detecting it.

Did you add any new hardware or install any new software recently? Did you try to change the sound settings in any way or did it just stop working without your knowledge?

I had installed a new hard drive, which I suppose could cause some issues. Any resolution to the problem?

did u reinstall windows when u put this new hard drive in? if so then u most likely havent installed the motherboard drivers and thats why it isnt working go to MSI's website and download the latest drivers for your motherboard and that should fix it

Note, when you formatt your drive and install a fresh copy of windows, Xp will not always pick the hardware up in the database, yes do what "gaming freak" said to do it's the only thing that could be wrong
