Ipod help!!!

I bought an ipod 2nd hand form america and i live in australia and we have different power ports then americans so the power adapter did not work.

I then check the price of them and they cost like $130!!!!!!!!!! and they only cost like $50 in America.

Do you think i could send an email to apple to ask if i could swap my american adapter for an australian?

edit: Just an idea, does anyoen know of a product that u can plug on to the ac power adapter to convert it so it can plug into australian sockets?

Just make sure it converts the voltages, too. If so, then it should work just fine.

EDIT: i read on the ipod ac adapter that it is 240V and the adapter thing i am goign to buy to convert it is also 240V...is this alright? should it work then?
